PGUPS held a series of masterclasses in academic English
From 25 February to 1 March 2019, Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University held a series of masterclasses in academic English on the topic of «Writing Abstracts and Giving Presentations» for undergraduates, postgraduates, young researchers and faculty members.
Exhibition «Nicholas I Imperial „Chugunki“» Opened in Peterhof
On August 4th, 2017 Upper Gardens in Peterhof saw opening of the exhibition «Nicholas I Imperial «Chugunki» (cast iron rails), dedicated to 180th anniversary of Russia’s railways and 160th anniversary of Peterhof Railway. The exhibition was jointly organised by PGUPS, the Peterhof State Museum-Reserve, as well as by JSC «RZD» and the Central Museum of Railway Transport.
Restoration of Trinity Cathedral is Finishing
The construction of the cathedral, which was christened in 1835, was supervised by Vasily Stasov and the Institute of the Transport Engineers Corps’ alumnus and later Chairman of the Committee for Buildings and Hydraulic works in St. Petersburg Pierru-Dominique Bazaine. It was him who solved the engineer task of strengthening columns and steadiness of the main dome. The calculation of constructions was made by another PGUPS’ alumnus — Pavel Melnikov.
The Winners of the International Creativity Competition «Heritage of Betancourt» were Awarded in Paris
The winners of the International Creativity Competition «Heritage of Betancourt» awarded diplomas at École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (Paris, France). The competition was organized by Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University (PGUPS) in the academic year 2015. The winners were congratulated by Director of École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées Armel de La Bourdonnaye.
A Contest of Students’ Creative Works «Heritage of Betancourt» Finished in Spain
Universidad Polytécnica de Madrid (UPM) — the partner of Emperor Alexander I St.Petersburg State Transport University — has organized a contest of students’ creative works dedicated to the biography and engineering legacy of Agustin de Betancourt. Students of EscuelaTécnica Superior de Ingenieros de Caminos, Canales y Puertos, which is a part of UPM, took part in the Contest.
Youth Theatre Festival «Apart-E»: the PGUPS Theater among the Best
Theatre-studio «Prostranstvo Igri» («Playing Space») became the winner of the 6th Inter-Regional Festival of Youth Theaters «Apart-E», which was attended by 13 on-stage performance groups from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaluga, Yaroslavl and Obninsk.
Team «Bez Konservantov» Reached the Semifinal of the Wits & Humor Competition Premier League
Team of our University «Bez Konservantov» («Without Preservatives») took the second place in the quarterfinals of the Wits & Humor Competition Premier League, which took place in Moscow.
Festival of Student Creativity «Art Studio!»: the PGUPS Students are the Best
Students of our University Tatyana Semyonova and Olga Emekshina from duet of vocal studio «Prima» won a landslide victory in the Festival of Student Creativity of St. Petersburg Universities «Art Studio!». They won the 1st place in the nomination «Singing. The Modern Stile».
«Heritage of Betancourt»: Students of the School № 210 Presented an Interactive Lecture at the PGUPS
The Festival «Week of Science», which was held at our University on April 18-25, 2016, was visited by students of the School № 210 of the Central district of St. Petersburg, who made a presentation of the Project «Interactive Lecture «Museum of Betancourt»» within the framework of the non-competitive program of the Contest of Scientific and Innovative Projects «INNOPRO».
The International Creativity Forum «Heritage of Betancourt» Took Place at the PGUPS
On April 20, 2016 the International Creativity Forum «Heritage of Betancourt» was held at Emperor Alexander I St. Petersburg State Transport University. It was dedicated to summing-up the results of the Competition of Student Creative Works.
